{"id":47994,"date":"2026-10-14T13:43:07","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T13:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/financialrush.com\/?p=47994"},"modified":"2026-10-14T13:43:07","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T13:43:07","slug":"what-to-know-about-benefits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/financialrush.com\/?p=47994","title":{"rendered":"What to know about benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> \n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"InlineImage-imageEmbed\" id=\"ArticleBody-InlineImage-108316927\" data-test=\"InlineImage\">\n<div class=\"InlineImage-wrapper\">\n<div>\n<p>A shopper looks at a beverage display June 4, 2026 at the Market 32 Supermarket in South Burlington, Vermont. <\/p>\n<p>Robert Nickelsberg | Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/10\/13\/social-security-cola-2027.html\">Social Security<\/a> cost-of-living adjustment will be 3.6% in 2027, the Social Security Administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/news\/en\/press\/releases\/2026-10-14.html\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Social Security <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/retirement\/\">retirement<\/a> benefits will go up by $75 per month, on average, the agency said. <\/p>\n<p>The cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, provides an annual inflation adjustment to both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, or SSI, benefits. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Social Security will implement this cost-of-living adjustment for 76 million Americans, giving them greater financial stability,&#8221; Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Around 72 million Americans will see the benefit increases in January, according to SSA. About 7.3 million SSI beneficiaries will receive higher payments starting Dec. 31, the agency said.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>This is a developing story.
