Government isn\u2019t hiring, universities aren\u2019t hiring. But not to worry, there\u2019ll always be a demand among Wall Street firms seeking to get an edge on where the latest employment number will land, right? <\/p>\n<p>Not if President Trump has anything to do with it.<\/p>\n<p>In an apparent breach of the embargo on federal data releases, and a full day ahead of the actual release, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/115862513677602476\" title=\"\" data-trackable=\"link\">issued his<\/a> \u2018truth\u2019:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"nfgpurie\" class=\"n-content-image n-content-image--full\" data-component=\"image-set\"><picture><source media=\"(min-width: 700px)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.ft.com\/v3\/image\/raw\/ftcms%3Af758053e-28a9-427e-a59f-32fc8a815db4?source=next-article&amp;fit=scale-down&amp;quality=highest&amp;width=700&amp;dpr=1 1x\" width=\"1220\" height=\"924\"\/><\/picture><\/figure>\n<p>The numbers match our sum of the monthly official jobs numbers February through December. So it seems pretty clear-cut.<\/p>\n<p>Did Trump\u2019s \u2018Truth\u2019 move the market? Big revisions, a fall in participation and a pick-up in wages all maybe reduced the likelihood of executing a slam-dunk directional Treasury trade on the back of the leak. Still, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/026e599f-7b29-40fc-b0ce-dea43a792e6e\" title=\"\" data-trackable=\"link\">report\u2019s release<\/a> to the wider market has been enough to give the bond market a bit of a fillip.<\/p>\n<p>How about prediction markets? While it\u2019s not got much depth, Polymarket might\u2019ve offered an easier way to make a quick buck PA.
