\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA renowned Bitcoin analyst has shared his thoughts on why BTC is struggling to maintain an upward trajectory.\u00a0\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
Bitcoin selling pressure is still outweighing demand and buying pressure as the bears are keeping markets suppressed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy is Bitcoin not pumping?\u201d asked<\/a> analyst and Stock-to-Flow model founder PlanB on Wednesday.<\/p>\n He said that 50% is selling by \u201cOGs traumatized by 2021, technical investors looking at RSI [relative strength index], and four-year cycle fans expecting a bear market two years after the halving.\u201d\u00a0The other 50% is buying from investors looking at fundamentals, institutional<\/a>, TradFi, and banks.<\/p>\n It is an \u201cepic battle \u2026 until sellers are out of ammo,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The reality is that the bears are currently winning the battle, but not the war. Bitcoin has declined around 31% from its all-time high, but such a correction is not unusual and has been seen many times in previous cycles.<\/p>\n \u201cBitcoin can definitely go lower from here, but it\u2019s not my base case,\u201d said<\/a> crypto entrepreneur Joe Consorti.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n He added that when the asset was this oversold in late 2018 on the weekly time frame, it dumped another 44%. The same scenario in 2022 saw a further 54% drop.<\/p>\n \u201cIf a proper bear market is underway, things can get much worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n However, BTC could also \u201cchop around and form a bottom here,\u201d as it did in September 2024 and April 2025, he said before adding, \u201cbottom formation takes time.\u201d<\/p>\n Bitcoin can definitely go lower from here, but it\u2019s not my base case.<\/p>\n When BTC was this oversold in late 2018 on the weekly timeframe, it dumped another 44% \u2014 in 2022, it dumped another 54%.<\/p>\n If a proper bear market is underway, things can get much worse.<\/p>\n Bitcoin could chop\u2026 https:\/\/t.co\/y0c04fERVU<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Joe Consorti (@JoeConsorti) December 16, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Meanwhile, senior commodity strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence, Mike McGlone, was extremely bearish, stating<\/a>, \u201cI expect Bitcoin to revert back toward $10,000.\u201d\u00a0A decline below the bottom of the last cycle, which was around $15,000, is highly unlikely and would likely signal the end of the road for all crypto assets.<\/p>\n Nevertheless, Bitcoin is currently in its longest-ever consecutive \u201cextreme fear\u201d streak, according to the Fear & Greed Index and market observers<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bitcoin has recovered marginally from its low<\/a> of $85,000 on Monday, briefly approaching $88,000 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n However, there just wasn\u2019t enough buying pressure at these levels, which caused the asset to fall back to $87,500 during the Wednesday morning Asian trading session.<\/p>\n Zooming out reveals that BTC has been range-bound for the past month, following massive declines in October and November. This could be the formation of a bottom or a final cling to support before another crash.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n\n
