It will work out <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vaordNav8d\">pic.twitter.com\/vaordNav8d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Cassandra Unchained (@michaeljburry) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/michaeljburry\/status\/1988441508660285536?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 12, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/cec33db6-7842-4bf5-80d5-677007bcab3e\" title=\"\" data-trackable=\"link\">As MainFT reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"n-content-blockquote o3-editorial-typography-blockquote\">\n[Burry], the investor made famous for his bet against the US housing market ahead of the 2008 financial crisis, is closing his hedge fund as he warned that market valuations had become unhinged from fundamentals. <\/p>\n<p>Scion Asset Management this week terminated its registration with US securities regulators, according to a filing. <\/p>\n<p>Burry told investors that he would \u201cliquidate the funds and return capital \u2014 but for a small audit\/tax holdback \u2014 by year\u2019s end,\u201d according to two people with direct knowledge of a letter he sent to investors. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Here\u2019s Burry\u2019s letter to investors, dated October 27th (<a href=\"https:\/\/d1e00ek4ebabms.cloudfront.net\/production\/uploaded-files\/dasdsd-b6655560-cc1e-4475-a4bc-4516d18d47bc.png\" title=\"\" data-trackable=\"link\">high-res<\/a>). Given it\u2019s all over the internet, we figure the ship has sailed on unauthorised reproduction and distribution, but we\u2019ve scrubbed some contact details nonetheless:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"upjfxcnh\" class=\"n-content-image n-content-image--full\" data-component=\"image-set\"><picture><source media=\"(min-width: 700px)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.ft.com\/v3\/image\/raw\/ftcms%3A0dc82386-3b48-4188-ba11-3fc19a0856a2?source=next-article&amp;fit=scale-down&amp;quality=highest&amp;width=683&amp;dpr=1 1x\" width=\"683\" height=\"900\"\/><\/picture><\/figure>\n<p>How this all spills out in terms of the timing of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/cc6e62a9-b901-4e1d-befa-ed304947f525\" title=\"\" data-trackable=\"link\">Burry\u2019s (possibly) successful recent short of Palantir<\/a> will presumably be revealed in due course, but in the meantime there\u2019s a far more interesting detail: his successor.
